Certain Electronic Devices, Including Streaming Players, Televisions, Set Top Boxes, Remote Controllers, and Components Thereof; Notice of Request for Submissions on the Public InterestSummary from the ITC: “Notice is hereby given that on July 9, 2021, the presiding administrative law judge (“ALJ”) issued an Initial Determination on Violation of Section 337. The ALJ also issued a Recommended Determination on remedy and bonding should a violation be found in the above-captioned investigation. The Commission is soliciting submissions on public interest issues raised by the recommended relief should the Commission find a violation. This notice is soliciting comments from the public only.”
Notice of Institution of Investigation; Certain Silicon Photovoltaic Cells and Modules With Nanostructures, and Products Containing the SameSummary from the ITC: “Notice is hereby given that a complaint was filed with the U.S. International Trade Commission on June 11, 2021, under section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930, as amended, on behalf of Advanced Silicon Group Technologies, LLC of Lowell, Massachusetts. A first supplement was filed on June 17, 2021, and a second supplement was filed on July 6, 2021. The complaint, as supplemented, alleges violations of section 337 based upon the importation into the United States, the sale for importation, and the sale within the United States after importation of certain silicon photovoltaic cells and modules with nanostructures, and products containing the same by reason of infringement of certain claims of U.S. Patent No. 8,450,599 (“the '599 patent”); U.S. Patent No. 8,852,981 (“the '981 patent”); U.S. Patent No. 9,601,640 (“the '640 patent”); U.S. Patent No. 9,768,331 (“the '331 patent”); U.S. Patent No. 10,269,995 (“the '995 patent”); and U.S. Patent No. 10,692,971 (“the '971 patent”). The complaint further alleges that an industry in the United States exists or is in the process of being established as required by the applicable Federal Statute. The complainant requests that the Commission institute an investigation and, after the investigation, issue a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders.”
Notice of Receipt of Amended Complaint; Solicitation of Comments Relating to the Public InterestSummary from the ITC: “Notice is hereby given that the U.S. International Trade Commission has received an amended complaint entitled Certain Light-Based Physiological Measurement Devices and Components Thereof, DN 3554; the Commission is soliciting comments on any public interest issues raised by the amended complaint or complainant's filing pursuant to the Commission's Rules of Practice and Procedure.”
Certain Mobile Devices With Multifunction Emulators; Notice of Commission Determination Finding No Violation of Section 337; Termination of InvestigationSummary from the ITC: “Notice is hereby given that the U.S. International Trade Commission has determined to affirm, with modifications, the Administrative Law Judge's (“ALJ”) final initial determination (“ID”) issued on March 16, 2021, finding no violation of section 337 in the above-referenced investigation. The investigation is terminated.”
Uncoated Paper From Australia, Brazil, China, Indonesia, and Portugal; Scheduling of Full Five-Year ReviewsSummary from the ITC: “The Commission hereby gives notice of the scheduling of full reviews pursuant to the Tariff Act of 1930 (“the Act”) to determine whether revocation of the antidumping duty orders on uncoated paper from Australia, Brazil, China, Indonesia, and Portugal and the countervailing duty orders on uncoated paper from China and Indonesia would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time. The Commission has determined to exercise its authority to extend the review period by up to 90 days.”
