  Mica Powder is a natural substance as they are occurring naturally from mineral silicate with a crystalline shine and can be in a variety of different colours from shimmering silver to dazzling gold sparkle. They are normally coated with various oxides such as titanium dioxide for providing a full range of colours. Mica is derived from a natural stone mineral that boasts shiny flakes. Once the mica stone is ground into a powder, mica powder is created. The powder is basically a soft type of fine glitter that has a coloring or dying effect when it comes into contact with a myriad of different surfaces and materials. Mica is one of the most important mineral ingredients in cosmetics, used widely to add shimmer and sparkle. Basically if a product has a shimmer effect, it's almost definitely mica. It is also popular in skincare products designed to create a glow effect, particularly those marketed as brightening or illuminating. The common ingredient of most shiny highlighters, eyeshadows and lip glosses is mica, a natural flaky mineral prevalent in India. Before mica is processed and ends up in beauty products, however, it needs to be mined, and often those who are responsible for extracting it from the ground are children.
