Description
The Khirsapat mango of Chapainawabganj, popularly known as Himsagar, has the Geographical Indication (GI) tag as the third Bangladeshi product after Hilsa and Jamdani. The 'Khirsapat' is a medium thick skinned, medium-sized with its unmistakable golden hue, rich pulp, complete absence of fiber and naturally sweetened mango. It is delicious and one of the popular varieties of mango of Bangladesh. It weighs between 300 and 350 grams, out of which the pulp content is around 77%. The mango is 8-10 cm long and 6-7 cm in wide. Mostly it’s green. When it is ripen and eatable, color becomes yellow and it becomes little soft. The pulp is yellow to orange in color.
