Jamun Extract (Tannin 20%)

The seed of the Jamun fruit is a precious gift bestowed upon man by nature. Possessed with several beneficial properties, it has long been used in traditional medicine to control diabetes, besides other ailments. The seed is sun dried and ground into a fine powder after which it is used in a variety of  formulations.

The Jamun seed is rich in Vitamins A and C and provides a high-fibre dietary intake. The seeds are said to contain the alkaloid jambosine and the glycoside jambolin which halt the diastatic conversion of starch into sugar.
