What if any requirements do you have operationally or otherwise for customers that you bring to us?
The only requirements we have for freight forwarders is that they are responsive, collaborative, and contribute to the improvement of our portal, same as any user. As long as you are active on our platform, you will be able to make the most of Export Portal.
FF’s are not usually involved with the sale agreement of goods between the buyer and seller, would using this portal put the FF in the middle of the sale?
No, we would not introduce freight forwarders to the middle of a sale that is going on. Our freight forwarders take care of the documentation aspect of transportation, not the sales agreement of the goods themselves.
Is the shipper or seller providing the shipping instructions?
Both parties provide shipping instructions. The seller collaborates with the freight forwarder on the export shipping documents on our document portal, EP Docs, to ensure all the information needed for a successful transaction is completed. This goes for everything from export shipping documents to shipment instructions.
Who is creating the export shipping documents and who is providing shipping instructions for export shipments out of the US?
The seller collaborates with the freight forwarder on the export shipping documents on our document portal, EP Docs, to ensure all the information needed for a successful transaction is completed. This goes for everything from export shipping documents to shipment instructions.
Who decides the mode of transportation for shipping?
If the mode of transportation for shipment is provided at the transaction level, then the freight forwarder must follow it. If no information on the mode of transport is provided, then the freight forwarder can offer solutions they feel are suitable.
Who chooses the Carrier for the shipment?
The freight forwarder chooses the carrier for the shipment.
Is the FF using their already established relationships with carriers OR is Export Portal providing their own?
Freight forwarders will use their established relationships for the time being.
Do you have any agreements with preferred Carriers?
No, we do not have any agreements with preferred carriers.
Do you mandate for only specific Carriers to be used with clients from your platform?
No, we do not mandate for specific carriers.
