Japan Seeks Increased Trade With Nigeria
According to Takuma Taninami, the Managing Director of the Japan External Trade Organization, several things could be improved with the current business relationship between Nigeria and Japan.
Despite Japan being the world's third-largest economy, he believes the huge Nigerian market has yet to be fully tapped into by Japanese and Japanese companies, even though Japan is the world's third-largest economy.
In his speech delivered at the Japan Pavilion at the ongoing Lagos International Trade Fair 2022, the JETRO boss stated that this was the case.
A total of 19 companies will be exhibiting at the Japan Pavilion this year as part of the LITF, ranging from industries such as automobiles and high-tech machinery to several other sectors.
A representative from JETRO, the Japan External Trade Organization, spoke on the Nigeria-Japan business relationship, saying that the organization was well known as the governing body for Japan to promote trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world. In 1955, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Lagos was established, and for the past 60 years, JETRO Lagos has been trying to support various kinds of business between Japan and Nigeria.
