Export from Azerbaijan

Neither Europe nor Asia, Azerbaijan is a tangle of contrasts. Surrounded by semi-desert, the cosmopolitan capital, Baku, rings its Unesco-listed ancient core with mushrooming new skyscrapers.

The country has trade relations with 84 countries around the world. Its economy is heavily dependent on crude oil exports, with oil alone generating about 47 per cent of GDP. However the government of Azerbaijan is also planning to diversify its economy by stimulating other industries.

As it has been recently reported, the country has the huge potential to rival Dubai and Singapore as an international trade and logistics hub. The energy-rich nation has been already investing in infrastructure to become an important point along trade routes between Europe and East Asia.

Azerbaijan's exporters sell oil products, cotton, tobacco, wine, refrigerators and chemical products to the overseas markets. The country imports food stuff, automobile and industrial equipment, metal and wood materials, clothing, shoes and domestic appliances. In the future Azerbaijan makes plans to export ready industrial items instead of raw materials.

Import to Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan is a surprising and beautiful country having a unique nature, culture, history, food, customs and tradition. It is often called "the country of fires" (from "azer" – which means fire). Location of Azerbaijan in intersection of Europe and Asia creates perfect conditions for the main part of the international trade turnover with the nations of this continent. Buyers around the world always looking for well-known Quban carpets from Azerbaijan, authentic wines, gold ware, high-quality silk and many other products.

If we take the country's structure of imports, only twelve percent of food is imported to Azerbaijan from other nations. Consequently Azerbaijan is not particularly dependent on food imports, with the exception of grain. The country is one of the highest consumers of bread in the world. Important exportable commodities in the country also include passenger cars, tobacco products, pharmaceutical products, precious metals and articles, furniture and its parts, converters, sugar and machines. Top import partners of Azerbaijan are Turkey, Russia, Germany, the United Kingdom, the US, and Italy.

Batteries and Chargers are used everywhere to put energy into our electric devices. The charging process depends on the size and type of the battery. Some battery types have high tolerance for overcharging and can be recharged by connection to a constant voltage source or a constant current source; simple chargers of this type require manual disconnection at the end of charging, or may have a timer to cut off charging current at a fixed time. Other battery types cannot withstand long high-rate over-charging; the charger may have temperature or voltage sensing circuits and a microprocessor controller to adjust the charging current, determine the state of charge, and cut off at the end of charge.

To buy chargers there should be taken into consideration that the chargers are rugged, safe, strong and reliable.

There are many types of chargers (or rechargers) and batteries, the most widely used among which are simple chargers, USB-based chargers, and fast chargers. If there is a need to shop batteries and chargers, Export Portal is a good choice having all the types and models presented.

Solar chargers convert light energy into current. They are generally portable, but can also be fixed mount. Fixed mount solar chargers are also known as solar panels. Solar panels are often connected to the electrical grid, whereas portable solar chargers are used off-the-grid, for example, cars, boats, or RVs.

Trickle chargers are typically low-current battery chargers used to charge small capacity batteries or to maintain larger capacity batteries typically found on cars, boats, RVs and other related vehicles.

USB chargers use a USB cable to connect a device to a power supply. Products based on this approach include chargers for cellular phones, portable digital audio players, and tablet computers. They may be fully compliant USB peripheral devices adhering to USB power discipline, or uncontrolled in the manner of USB decorations.

There also exists such a type as intelligent chargers and smart batteries. A smart battery contains some sort of electronic device or "chip" that can communicate with a smart charger about battery characteristics and condition. A smart battery generally requires a smart charger it can communicate. A smart charger is a charger that can respond to the condition of a battery, and modify its charging actions accordingly.

Other exploited chargers types include timer-based chargers, motion-powered charger, pulse chargers, powerbanks and inductive battery chargers

Chargers are used for different purposes and devices. There exist battery chargers for vehicles, electric vehicle batteries using charge stations or non-contact magnetic charging, mobile phone charges, and stationary battery plants. Battery chargers are also used for electric forklift, scrubbers, sweepers, scissor lifts, golf carts, airport baggage movers, people movers and all thing electric battery powered.

Buy or sell chargers online on Export Portal with its huge selection of batteries and chargers. We offer a great opportunity to find buyers or sellers of batteries for successful deals and trade.

Export/Import Tariffs

Azerbaijan currently does not apply any import quotas. However, the export of scrap metals has been prohibited since 2001 to ensure availability for domestic consumption. The Cabinet of Ministers’ special permission is required for the import and export of:

  • arms
  • nuclear materials
  • specific narcotics and psychotropic substances
  • chemical toxins
  • certain scientific and technical information
  • some technologies.

Azerbaijani licensing procedures are not in line with the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) and the Agreement on Import Licensing Procedures. A Presidential Decree issued in 2002 significantly reduced a wide range of licensing requirements and introduced transparency in the licensing procedure. Many licensing requirements remain in place, however in the context of the ongoing World Trade Organization (WTO) accession negotiations new procedural rules for the issue of licenses must be introduced and existing laws appropriately amended.

Government licensing is required for the import of tobacco, ethyl spirits and alcohol.

Import contracts on chemicals, medicines and medical appliances must be registered with the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Agriculture. Export contracts must be registered if they relate to:

  • wild animals and plants
  • medicine ingredients made from predatory animals and wild plants
  • information on energy
  • natural resources fields and areas located within onshore and offshore
  • inventions
  • know-how and results of scientific research
  • works of art and antiques
  • ozone depleting materials and goods.
